ICAR-Indian institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar celebrated India’s 71st Republic Day on 26th January 2020 in its premises. Director and staff of the institute joined the celebration. Director, Dr. S.K. Ambast unfurled the national flag which was followed by recital of national anthem. In his address to the staff of the institute, Director referred to some of the important provisions of the constitution and emphasized the need for educating the children and citizens about the basic features of the constitution and the guiding principles for a harmonious, peaceful coexistence of people of various faiths and background. He reminded them of the importance of the fundamental duties enshrined in the constitution and called upon to observe these duties in letter and spirit for creating a new India. He urged the scientists and other staff to work seriously on developing technological solutions for addressing water related issues in the context of climate change and emphasized the need for contributing to societal well being through individual and collective efforts. He expressed satisfaction at ICAR-IIWM bagging several recognitions in 2019-20 including the best annual report award in small institute category, and complimented scientists and staff for their endeavour. In the beginning, Director and staff offered floral tributes to the father of the nation and remembered his contribution for a free India.
