Report on Hon'ble Prime Minister's Interaction with Farmers on 20.06.2018



An interaction "Sangosthi" was held between farmers and Scientists of the Institute on 20.06.2018 on the eve of Hon'ble Prime Minister's direct dialogue programme with farmers across the country. Total 23 farmers from three different villages namely; Jaypurpatna, Jaypur and Bikipur of Khurda district (Odisha) were present on the occasion. The farmers listened the direct dialogue of Hon'ble Prime Minister among various progressive farmers from different states through DD Kissan telecast media arranged at the Institute. The farmers were very much enthusiastic by the motivation made by the Hon'ble Prime Minister for advising various progressive means in farming for doubling the income of farmers by 2022. Thereafter, an interaction meeting was held, in which the farmers interacted among the scientists and Director of the institute regarding various problems faced by them pertaining to farming. The scientists clarified the doubts of the farmers and updated their knowledge. After completion of the Sangosthi, a field visit in the campus of the Institute was arranged, in which the farmers were exposed to efficient irrigation systems like drip and sprinkler along with various intercropping systems. Total 44 participants were present in the meeting.
