An awareness-cum-demonstration program on Balanced Use of Fertilizers (BUF) was successfully organized on 27 May 2026 at Badamulai village under Kantapada Block of Cuttack district, Odisha, under the Mera Gaon, Mera Gaurav (MGMG) programme. The programme was organised by Dr. S. Mohanty, Dr. R. K. Mohanty, Dr. H. K. Dash, and Dr. Ankhila R. Handral and Shri. Sanjay Rautaray, Sarpanch was the guest of honor. A total of 57 farmers, including 13 women farmers, actively participated in the programme. Scientists interacted with farmers on issues related to declining soil fertility, rising cultivation costs, and imbalanced fertilizer use. Farmers were advised on balanced fertigation, crop residue incorporation, and efficient fertilizer application methods for improving soil health and crop productivity. Discussions also covered fisheries management aspects, including pond water quality, nutrient management, and scientific feeding practices for improving fish productivity and sustainability. Practical demonstrations were conducted on the use of Rhizobium, Azotobacter, PSB, KSB, vermicompost, FYM, nano-urea, nano DAP, and green manuring with Sesbania (Dhaincha).
