ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar organized direct telecast of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi distribution programme and Farmer-Scientist interaction meet on 19.11.2025. Shri Ashrit Pattanayak, Hon’ble MLA, Pipili graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his address, Shri Pattanayak said that farmers are the ‘Annadata’ and they feed the nation. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji is very much concerned for the welfare of the farming community of the nation. Today, 21st installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi of Rs.18000 crores was released by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi Ji and sent digitally to the bank accounts of 9 crore eligible farmers across the country. He urged upon the farmers to increase their income through use of modern technologies in agriculture, fishery & animal husbandry sector. Dr. Arjamadutta Sarangi, Director of the Institute informed that ICAR-IIWM has developed a number of water saving technologies for different production ecologies and asked the farmers to increase their production with less use of water. Direct telecast of PM’s address was shown to the farmers. Earlier, a Farmer-Scientist interaction meet was organized, where 150 progressive farmers of ten different adopted villages of Cuttack, Khordha and Puri districts actively participated. The Chief Guest distributed agricultural inputs to the farmers. Scientists, technical personnel and other staff members including research scholars also participated in the event. The meeting was organized by Dr. B.K. Sethy and coordinated by Dr. H.K. Dash, while Dr. S.K. Mishra proposed vote of thanks.
