On Day-11 of the celebration, the expert team from the ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management (IIWM) conducted an awareness program on “Educational initiatives that highlight the legacy of tribal freedom fighters” under the "Janjatiyan Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada 2025" in Sri Jayadev Shiksha Kendra, Patia, Bhubaneswar, Khordha. The program aimed to create awareness among students about the remarkable and often lesser-known contributions of tribal freedom fighters who played a pivotal role in India’s struggle for independence. This initiative aligned with the national mission of honouring tribal heroes. The program included presentations, interactive discussions that highlighted the struggles, courage, and sacrifices of iconic tribal leaders including Birsa Munda, Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Veer Surendra Sai, Laxman Naik and Rani Gaidinliu. Their movements reflected resistance against oppressive colonial systems and protection of tribal rights, culture, and identity. A total of 78 students including 34 girl students were present in this program including the teachers and principal of the school.
