National Constitution Day 2025 at ICAR–Indian Institute of Water Management Bhubaneswar

ICAR–Indian Institute of Water Management (IIWM), Bhubaneswar celebrated National Constitution Day on 26 November 2025 with great enthusiasm and active participation from all staff members. The event aimed to reaffirm the institute’s commitment to the core constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. As part of the nationwide observance, IIWM organized a series of activities emphasizing awareness, pride, and collective responsibility towards the Constitution of India. The programme commenced with the administration of the Preamble to the Constitution as a pledge, led by Dr. K. K. Bandyopadhyay, Programme Leader, Canal Water Management, ICAR-IIWM. Staff members participated wholeheartedly and took the pledge with a renewed sense of national pride. To promote inclusivity and encourage participation in regional languages, staff also took the pledge through constitution75.com and MyGov.in in their respective mother tongues. The digital certificates received from these platforms were shared in the institute’s official WhatsApp group, reflecting the collective spirit and commitment of the staff. To highlight the significance of the day, the institute displayed informative banners at strategic locations, including the main gate, entrance gate, and conference hall. These banners spread awareness about the importance of the Constitution and enriched the overall ambience of the celebrations. A key highlight of the programme was the Speech Competition held on the theme “Hamara Samvidhan – Hamara Swabhiman.” Staff members enthusiastically participated, delivering insightful and inspiring speeches that reflected on the vision of the Constitution, the role of citizens in upholding democratic values, and the pride associated with being part of the world’s largest democracy. The competition encouraged intellectual engagement and provided a platform for expressing perspectives on constitutional ideals and civic responsibility. Following the competition, the winners were announced and cash rewards were presented as a token of appreciation. The Director of ICAR-IIWM, Dr. Arjamadutta Sarangi, graced the occasion and distributed prizes to all the winners, acknowledging their efforts and encouraging continued participation in such national observance events. The judges who evaluated the competition were also felicitated for their valuable contribution to maintaining fairness and quality in the assessments. The activities and highlights of the day were actively shared across the institute’s official social media platforms, ensuring wider outreach and engagement with stakeholders and the public. The entire programme was smoothly coordinated by Dr. R. K. Jena, Dr. Ankita Jha, Dr. Ankhila R. H., and Er. Asish M. Jadhav, Scientists of the institute, who meticulously organized the activities and ensured the successful conduct of the National Constitution Day 2025 celebrations at ICAR-IIWM. The observance of National Constitution Day at the institute fostered a deeper understanding of constitutional values and strengthened the collective resolve of the staff to contribute responsibly toward nation-building. The event concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the importance of the Constitution as the guiding force for democratic governance and institutional integrity.
