An exposure visit for fifteen B.Sc. (Ag) 4th year RAWE students of SOA University, Bhubaneswar through ICAR-IIHR, CHES Centre, Bhubaneswar was organized on 28.09.2026 to provide practical knowledge on protected horticulture and modern soilless farming technologies. The programme included demonstrations and field visits covering hydroponic, aquaponic, aeroponic and soilless dragon fruit cultivation systems. Students were briefed on hydroponic system components like, NFT, DFT, Pot culture etc., crop establishment, nutrient and water management, recirculation, aeration and routine maintenance practices. A technical lecture was delivered on the topic “Protected cultivation of Vegetable: Structure and Crop management” by Dr. Prativa Sahu, Scientist to strengthen their conceptual understanding of soilless cultivation, resource-use efficiency and protected farming. Interactive discussions and practical demonstrations enabled students to relate theoretical knowledge with field-level applications. The visit enhanced their technical skills and understanding of innovative and sustainable agricultural practices. The visit was coordinated by Dr. Prativa Sahu, Scientist and Dr. Sumanta Kumar Mishra, Principal Scientist.
